About the role


The Building Operations team is responsible for ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the building, providing a consistently high level of customer service, for a building with many uses including as English National Ballet's home, as well as a base for many other creative companies rehearsals and filming and for high-profile event usage.

Working to the priorities set by the Head of Building Operations, the Front of House and Events Officer will focus on:

  • Event planning, set-up, support, greeting and hospitality service
  • Coordination of logistics and operational elements of visiting creative hires
  • Event hire support, including hosting sitevisits for clients and suppliers, and event delivery
  • Essential services for the daytoday running of the building
  • Front of house duties including reception and managing the switchboard
  • A welcoming, safe and secure environment in the building

Responsibilities

  • Assist operationally with external hires and events at the Mulryan Centre for Dance, such as dance, theatre and music rehearsals, receptions and dinners, filming, meetings and conferences
  • Create event plans and risk assessments for both large and smallscale events and artistic activity
  • Ensure the smooth, safe running of all activity at the Mulryan Centre for Dance (MCD).
  • Act as a key point of contact in the building; delivering the highest level of customer service, both to internal and external customers.
  • Work effectively as part of the Building Operations team, and provide cover as required during break times or for shift requirements
  • Work proactively with the Head of Building Operations and Team to support colleagues in Producing, Technical, Development, Marketing, Commercial for events and hires.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Experience of planning, coordination and logistics.
  • Experience of working in a busy customerorientated environmen
  • Ability to understand the varied requirements of working in the performing arts or cultural sector and the practical requirements for the successful delivery of artistic productions
  • Good communication and listening skills, with a high standard of written and verbal Englis
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with coworkers and other internal and external contact
  • Professional and confident manner with a high standard of customer care and responsiveness
