The NHS Scotland Academy (NHSSA) is an exciting partnership between NHS Golden Jubilee and NHS Education for Scotland to offer accelerated training for a wide range of health and social care roles and professions.

NHS Scotland Academy are seeking to appoint a dynamic pharmacist, to join the evolving Academy team.

The post holder will support the Head of Programme and the Principal Educator to deliver on a portfolio of work, primarily providing strategic educational leadership and exploring the future-focused direction for the NHS Scotland Academy (NHSSA).

The post holder is managed by the Associate Director of Pharmacy NHS GJ and will provide a clinical pharmacy role within NHS GJ two days a week.


The National Clinical Skills for Pharmacist Programme supports registered pharmacists take on new and extended clinical roles through a combination of face-to-face teaching, simulation and personal study.


In collaboration with the Dundee Institute for Healthcare Simulation (DIHS) the programme covers both consultation and clinical assessment skills that learners can implement in their daily practice.


The post holder will be responsible for developing, delivering and evaluating pharmacy, training and development across NHS Scotland Academy and NHS Golden Jubilee.


The job purpose is to ensure the strategic planning, management, co-ordination, development and delivery of education and training, and ensuring compliance with professional standards and medicines legislation.

This will include managing the delivery of formal training schemes, advising on methods of meeting training needs and ensuring training support is available for all faculty members, tutors and trainers and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.
