    Scope: Full-time, permanent

    Who we are

We are a global consultancy that works with large businesses, governments and institutions that matter. We help them change their ways of working to become more responsive, adaptable and impactful.

We are a fast-growing business working with clients around the world. Our customers are senior leaders (e.g. CEOs, Chief Digital Officers, Transformation Directors) in businesses, government, health systems, multilaterals and big philanthropic organisations. Our work includes transforming operating models and ways of working, resetting how their services are delivered, and building sustainable digital capability inside institutions. You can read more about what we do on our website .

The variety of our consultancy work and the range of different audiences we speak to globally brings some complexity into how we structure our marketing and sales efforts. We sell ourselves on our ideas, our people, and our track record of delivering proven impactful change. We are recognised as global thought leaders in our field and are regularly quoted in the media - but sometimes we find ourselves talking to our own fanclub rather than potential customers.

    The role

The business is growing fast, and we want to build a stronger marketing function to lead and accelerate this growth, working closely in an integrated way with our sales function.

In the last 6-12 months, we've put foundational building blocks in place, including a corporate rebrand, a new website, setting up our CRM to support digital marketing, running our own events series, PR partnerships, and experimenting with different approaches on social media, email marketing and online ads.

We are now looking for an ambitious and passionate Marketing Director to lead our marketing strategy and direct our marketing efforts across the business. They will be responsible for building out a marketing team, which works in a multidisciplinary way with our consultants and our business development colleagues to create engaging and commercially-focussed marketing campaigns, and designing user journeys which attract and engage potential customers.

    Our Marketing Director needs to:

    • Be ambitious for Public Digital and our brand
    • Be very commercially focussed: the role of marketing in PD is to drive growth. Our marketing strategy needs to drive brand awareness, establish PD as a go-to consultancy, and support our consultants with driving and converting sales
    • Work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary and agile way within the culture of the organisation and with the different skills and expertise in PD
    • Be intellectually curious about the work we do in order to be able to position and market it to broader audiences
    • Have exceptional stakeholder management skills in working with our Founders, partners, consultants, and suppliers, gaining stakeholders' trust while bringing them on a journey to achieve your objectives
    • Be a team-builder, creating and scaling a high performing marketing function

    What you will do:

    • Build on existing foundations to iterate and execute a marketing strategy aligned with PD's goals
    • Own the Public Digital brand and sub brands. Ensure brand consistency and adherence to guidelines, whilst evolving, developing and expanding our brands across all touchpoints
    • Lead planning and delivery of integrated marketing campaigns to attract new clients and retain existing ones, bringing together design, content, media and events
    • Build a high performing marketing team that works in a multidisciplinary way with business development and our consultancy teams to drive growth in each of our business sectors
    • Be responsible for marketing measurement which tells us how effectively we are promoting Public Digital and its services, using data from different sources to constantly refine and optimise the performance of different marketing activities and campaigns
    • Foster a culture of experimentation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the marketing team

    About You:

    • Proven experience in a senior marketing role, preferably within the management consultancy or similar professional services industry
    • Has ideally worked in a B2B scale-up environment leading marketing to drive sales and financial growth
    • Expertise in digital marketing:, SEO, email marketing, social media marketing, paid media, CRM and analytics
    • Strong background in content marketing, with a track record of increasing content KPIs by developing engaging content and managing content distribution channels in a context where thought leadership is important
    • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, direct and motivate a team, and build the trust and confidence of stakeholders
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner
    • The ability to interpret data, extract insights, and make data-driven decisions.

    What's in it for you:

    • Opportunity to grow and progress rapidly within an engaged, supportive environment
    • Be entrepreneurial and contribute to the growth and success of Public Digital
    • Focus on enabling people to deliver high-impact work with leading institutions around the world
    • Focus on learning, development and progression
    • Ability to build and develop your expertise and profile through publishing blog posts, presenting at events and sharing knowledge and experience
    • Be empowered to do your best job
    • Home and remote working, flexibility in how you deliver work
    • Buddy system and prioritised mental health
    • Generous holiday allowance of 30 days, plus an additional office closure over the Christmas period.
    • Private healthcare cover.
