Job description:

The MOD is far more than just tanks and soldiers.

We are one of the biggest providers of Healthcare in the UK, we send personnel across the world on aid and training exercises, spend around £40 Billion annually and support almost 400,000 jobs across the country.

At the heart of all of this work must be quality analysis to ensure we are as effective and prepared as possible to meet a sophisticated range of threats and challenges.

Our analytical staff are spread across a variety of sites, in London, Bristol, Andover, High Wycombe and Portsmouth.

Our analytical community is well respected and actively engaged in discussions on meaningful policy at all levels in the MOD.

Our analysts also routinely produce a large number of publications, put in to the public domain under MOD's commitment to release information where possible and for accountability.

With renewed public interest in the evidence base that government makes its decisions on, high quality, credible analysis is more important than ever - and so are keen analysts

In these roles you will also be given access to all the tools and training you may need.

We offer wide arrays of training courses from simple things - such as official writing, to training on specialist software.

The MOD also offers one of the best pay deals across government analysis, with supplementary pay for keeping your skills on the cutting edge of analysis.

Day to day tasks of the successful applicants will include:

  • leading the delivery and development of both internally and externally released statistics ensuring the key messages from the statistics are clear and understood.
- working closely with colleagues in the Defence policy teams and the three services (Royal Navy, Army, and RAF).
- working with relevant customers, providing analysis and advice to inform debate and influence decision making.
- working with wider MOD to brief senior leaders and Ministers and respond to external requests for information (including Freedom of Information Requests and Parliamentary Questions).
- supporting Senior Team Leaders in the development of analysis as prioritised by customers.
- supporting your team with the production of outputs and their professional development.
