Elementa are a recruitment partner and are supporting this school in recruiting an experienced Head of Department - Science to join & lead the department team

The ideal applicant will have previous experience of having led a department or a significant amount of experience in a supporting role and now ready to take on a new challenge as part of their own progression.

The formal selection process will include a school tour, an observed teaching lesson, panel interview and possibly a student council meeting.

The ideal qualities the schools are seeking in someone are:

The school itself has a good reputation, good student attainment results and has enjoyed a long-standing, collaborative and stable staff team, with many of the staff having worked at the school for years.

The school had previously enjoyed a 'Good' grading by Ofsted although their more recent reports (post-covid) has been graded as 'Requires Improvement'.

This should be taken into context in terms of many other schools previously graded 'Good' have also had their Ofsted grading affected post-pandemic and is likely not a true representation of the school overall.

The school team are working hard and making progress towards overall improvements. The school are confident in the changes they are making and are working towards restoring their 'Good' grading.
