London Trading Centre is an extension of Head Office's Global Markets Department trading platform that provide clients with greater coverage in foreign exchange, derivatives, commodities and fixed income trading.

As a Senior Trader, you will be responsible for managing the London Trading Centre's Foreign Exchange (FX) Desk daily operations.

You will provide pricing, market making and trading with overseas institutions under the name of Bank of China London (BOC London) and Bank of China Head Office (BOC HO).

This is a full time permanent position.


Key responsibilities

  • Lead the G10 and Emerging Markets (EM) FX team in executing business development strategy for BOC HO Global Markets trading business under HO's business strategy
  • Responsible for pricing and trading FX products for the purpose of BOC HO's commercial needs, provide pricing to BOC branches in London Trading Centre coverage time
  • Servicing the relationships of clients for FX along with HO, BOC EMEA branches Financial Markets sales team, and other trading centres
  • Managing FX Desk positions within the Bank guidelines. Contributing to the positive income profile of the business
  • Continue the development of BOC Electronic Forex (eFX) trading capacity in conjunction with Head Office and ensure alignment with the Bank's trading activity
  • Ensure all positional/trading and counterparty limits are adhered to and advising Senior Management and Middle Office if extreme market activity occurs
  • Ensure all internal control, compliance and regulatory requirements are met and that the Bank's trading activity adheres to the Global FX Code
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Keep abreast of technological, regulatory and other developments to ensure that the Bank's execution process remains compliant and representative of best industry practices
  • Engage with HO FX Desk, other desks' heads and Head of Department to identify ways in which the London Trading Centre's performance can be enhanced
  • Cover other traders as required
  • Assist in training new staff members

Requirements:


  • Degree educated in Banking Finance or other equivalent
  • Significant experience in similar business stream
  • Significant knowledge of FX, pricing, operations of single and multibank platforms
  • Solid practical knowledge of FX spot, swaps, forward and Non-Deliverable Forward (NDF) pricing
  • Understanding of FX fix client orders and associated risk management
  • People management skills
  • Team player
  • Excellent communication skills
