36 hours per week. We currently have a new opportunity for a dynamic and flexible person to join our team. As Cover Supervisor, you will work across the school, covering the lessons of teachers when they are absent. You will also work in conjunction with the Deputy Headteacher to administer the daily cover rota. The successful candidate will be required to provide cover for absent teaching staff across a broad range of subjects. This role may suit a graduate and/or someone who is considering a future in teaching or working with children and young people.

Applicants are invited from interested individuals who are able to demonstrate:

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well to young people, having good communication skills, and being able to encourage and motivate pupils;
• Patience, understanding and the ability to establish good relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, particularly pupils and school staff;
• An organised and logical approach to administration;
• Enthusiasm and a high motivation for the post;
• Good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills;
• The ability to work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff within an agreed system of supervision;
• The ability to implement agreed work programmes with individuals, classes or groups;
• The capacity to supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absence;
• The capacity to maintain good order and keep students on task.

The successful applicant will need to be registered with the Education Workforce Council for Wales before appointment. A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be requestedfor this post. You will need a basic knowledge of Welsh. Reasonable support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.
