    As the Sous Chef at The Artisan Restaurant & Bar, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen.

    You will be responsible for assisting in menu development, food preparation, and maintaining the high culinary standards of the restaurant.


    Kitchen Operations:
    Assist the Head Chef in overseeing all kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
    Ensure that food is prepared and presented according to the restaurant's quality and plating standards.
    Supervise kitchen staff and manage their tasks effectively.
    Collaborate with the Head Chef in menu development, focusing on creative dishes that showcase artisanal ingredients.
    Execute recipes accurately and consistently, maintaining the restaurant's commitment to quality.


    Quality Control:
    Conduct quality checks on food items to ensure they meet the restaurant's standards for taste, presentation, and portion size.
    Monitor kitchen staff to ensure adherence to recipes, plating standards, and cooking techniques.
    Address any food-related issues promptly and professionally.
    Assist in the recruitment, training, and mentoring of kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and skill development.
    Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
    Step in to lead the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.


    Kitchen Organisation:
    Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
    Assist in inventory management, ordering, and kitchen staff scheduling.
    Help manage kitchen costs effectively.
    Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a high-end restaurant or similar establishment.
    Strong knowledge of artisanal food and beverage products, including sourcing and preparation.
    Culinary creativity and a passion for using local, seasonal ingredients.
    Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
