Amada Brake Press Setter/Operator to join our UK Manufacturing team
.
About the Role
The position is responsible for the setting and operating of the Amada Brake Press in our fabrication/welding department using engineering drawings and other written and verbal specifications.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Set up and configure Amada brake press machine according to job specifications and drawings.
- Adjusting the machine's settings such as speed, angle, and pressure
- Ability to handle raw material safely and efficiently. Ensuring that materials are positioned correctly to achieve accurate bends and shapes.
- Confidence operating the brake press machine to bend, shape or cut raw materials according to provided blueprints and instructions.
- Monitoring machine during its operation to detect any issues or deviations from the planned process.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications, make adjustments if and when required to correct any defects or discrepancies.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on the brake press machinery, such as cleaning, lubrication and replacing worn parts. Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions
Skills and experience
- Previous experience operating Brake Press machines is essential ideally Amada.
- Proficiency in reading drawings and blueprints understanding geometric dimensions and tolerances. Knowledge of machine setup, tooling and programming.
- Experience and knowledge of handling raw materials.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and correct quality issues during the manufacturing process.
- Ability to programme, create tools and recognise tools due to experience.
- Confidence to work independently using initiative and knowledge.
- Commitment to following health and safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.
- Amada brake press training would be an advantage
