    Description
    We require an Engineering Administrator for one of Northern Irelands largest Public Body's.

    You will oversee, plan and coordinate access to the Northern Ireland Railways Infrastructure to allow works to take place safely in accordance with relevant standards and procedures.

    You will support the Management Team in carrying out their functions in relation to technical, safety and competence management.

    In addition, continuously drive safety improvements in arrangements for the planning and protection of engineering works on or about the railway.

    As a Engineering Administrator your new role will include but not be limited to the following:

    Ensure that track possessions are planned with the safest and most efficient access opportunities, working closely with the infrastructure asset managers and project management team
    Managing the planning system - tracking trends and identifying areas for improvement
    Liaise with the Rail Undertaking and Traffic Department to ensure that collaborative working arrangements are maintained.
    Chair Weekly Operating Notice meetings and check that publications match possession arrangements.
    Develop safe system of work procedures and ensure that these arrangements are adhered to
    Authorise safe system of work arrangements submitted by possession planners and verify that the level of protection is appropriate.
    Monitor performance in relation to engineering access planning systems, access requests and planning performance review.
    Provide support during degraded working by carrying out contingency working competencies (eg. Emergency Operator, Points Operator, Pilotman, Bridge Strike Nominee etc).A full job description can be provided upon request. Please note this is a 6 month contract however it is likely to be extended or made permanent.

    Essential experience should include the following:

    Minimum of 3 years' experience in a safety critical environment
    A relevant third level qualification
    Experience of using MS Office, including Outlook, Word & Excel
    Good working knowledge of safety processes, safety management systems and competence management systems
    Ability to liaise with operational, technical and engineering personnel to co-ordinate effective planning arrangements
    Able to work nights and weekends when required
    Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.

    It would be Desirable if candidates had the following:
