The role:


The Senior Planner will be required to establish and control the overall production plan for the company ensuring that the manufacturing plan is maintained in line with the Sales plan and provide information to the Management Team accordingly.


The responsibilities of the role include(but are not limited to)**:

  • Generate and maintain 'Master Production Schedules'
  • Interpret the MRP procedures to enable accurate judgements to be made on MRP order recommendations, assisting all departments in problem solving analysis on the computer system.
  • Maintain an ongoing analysis of slow moving and obsolete stocks. Continually making provision for it's disposal or usage and reporting this to the management team.
  • Ensure incoming materials are managed and expedited through the Goods Inwards Inspection function in accordance with overall production requirements.
  • To liaise between Production Control and all service areas to establish priorities and control of programme changes

Senior Planner Specification:


  • 2 years experience in a planning role within a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of MRP & associated planning and scheduling routines
  • Experience of computerized inventory management systems and up to date methodology.
  • IT Skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to understand technical drawings

This role will be worked over a 4.5 day week; Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 16:45 and Friday 08:00 - 12:30.

Flexibility in this role is critical to the success of supporting the team. Hybrid working will be available for this role after the training period has been completed.
