- Primary Responsibilities:
- Parts Library Management: Create and maintain a comprehensive parts library in the CR5000/CR8000 database.
- Component Design: Develop component shapes, symbols, and layouts as requested by hardware design engineers.
- Schematic Capture and PCB Layout: Collaborate closely with hardware design engineers to execute schematic capture and PCB layout.
- DFx Analysis: Conduct thorough Design for Excellence (DFx) analysis to optimise PCB designs.
- Design Rules: Establish layout Design Rules for automatic checking, ensuring design compliance and efficiency.
- Manufacturing Data: Generate and maintain all PCB and PBA manufacturing data, Bills of Materials (BoMs), and drawings.
- Manufacturing Support: Respond to PCB fab Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis and manufacturing queries to ensure seamless production.
- 3D Model Export: Export 3D models to MCAD (Creo) for a comprehensive view of the design.
- Requirements:
- Electronics/Electrical Engineering diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a relevant R&D department in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in PCB CAD
- Familiarity with relevant IPC standards - preferred
- In-depth understanding of PCB fabrication and PBA manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with PDM tools, specifically PTC Windchill is advantageous.
- Experience in designing boards for high voltage and/or high current applications.
