    PCB Designer (hybrid available) – London - up to £55,000 + Bonus + Ex. Benefits – Permanent

    Primary Purpose:

    The PCB Designer will join our client's team and play a crucial role in the design of high-reliability PCBs and Printed Board Assemblies (PBAs) used in cutting-edge solutions for Power Feeding Equipment which provides high voltage power to subsea fibre optic networks.

    • Primary Responsibilities:
    • Parts Library Management: Create and maintain a comprehensive parts library in the CR5000/CR8000 database.
    • Component Design: Develop component shapes, symbols, and layouts as requested by hardware design engineers.
    • Schematic Capture and PCB Layout: Collaborate closely with hardware design engineers to execute schematic capture and PCB layout.
    • DFx Analysis: Conduct thorough Design for Excellence (DFx) analysis to optimise PCB designs.
    • Design Rules: Establish layout Design Rules for automatic checking, ensuring design compliance and efficiency.
    • Manufacturing Data: Generate and maintain all PCB and PBA manufacturing data, Bills of Materials (BoMs), and drawings.
    • Manufacturing Support: Respond to PCB fab Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis and manufacturing queries to ensure seamless production.
    • 3D Model Export: Export 3D models to MCAD (Creo) for a comprehensive view of the design.
    • Requirements:
    • Electronics/Electrical Engineering diploma or equivalent qualification.
    • Minimum 3 years' experience in a relevant R&D department in a manufacturing environment.
    • Proficiency in PCB CAD
    • Familiarity with relevant IPC standards - preferred
    • In-depth understanding of PCB fabrication and PBA manufacturing processes.
    • Familiarity with PDM tools, specifically PTC Windchill is advantageous.
    • Experience in designing boards for high voltage and/or high current applications.
