Chemotherapy Day Unit- Staff Nurse
Location:
University College Hospital Private Care, London**
Hours: Full time days per week 8-6pm or potentially 9-7pm on occasion)

As Staff Nurse for our chemo day care unit you will be responsible for working in a supporting experienced nursing team to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of specialist care to ensure that patients are cared for in a safe, caring and comfortable environment.
We understand cancer care is a challenging field and our friendly team work closely together to adopt a supportive culture.
**Duties & Responsibilities
- Participate in individual care needs of patients and develop appropriate care plans to implement and evaluate
- Monitor patient care and interventions appropriately
- Recognise deterioration in patients' condition at an early stage, (including neutropenic patients) Refer to the senior nurse and medical team appropriately
- Liaise with multidisciplinary team (MDT)
- Maintain ward area in stocked items, equipment and waste to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Registered nurse, with post qualification
- NHS or Private experience
- Chemo Trained

The day-care unit at
UCH is situated on the 5th floor of University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre.
The centre specialises mainly in malignant haematology and stem cell transplantation and is one of only a few centres in the UK to have JACIE accreditation for its transplant service.
There is also some Oncology, mainly sarcoma and brain tumours. Patients receive a range of treatments- chemotherapy, immunotherapies, and supportive treatments such as blood transfusions, venesections and bisphosphonates
