The Bar Council represents more than 17,000 barristers in England and Wales.

It promotes the Bar's high quality specialist advocacy and advisory services; fair access to justice for all; the highest standards of ethics, equality and diversity across the profession; and the development of business opportunities for barristers at home and abroad.

The Bar Council is the governing body and the Approved Regulator for the Bar of England and Wales. It discharges its regulatory functions through the independent Bar Standards Board.


The Services Administrator_ _plays a key role in ensuring the day-to-day administrative delivery of the portfolio of services offered to the Bar Council's members, affiliated organisations, associations and other relevant individuals.

The Services Administrator_ _is also expected to support the development of new services for the Bar and will work with other roles within the Services Team to undertake research with key stakeholders and gather data relating to specific, ad-hoc, projects.


As part of their role, the Services Administrator_ _will support the Head of Services and Senior Services Coordinator in their management of the services portfolio, examples of which include the Pupillage Gateway recruitment portal and the Bar Representation Fee payment system.

They will also coordinate meetings with key external stakeholders such as the Bar Council's business partners and chambers professionals, taking responsibility for the drafting of minutes and occasional production of reports.


The role requires an enthusiastic and adaptable individual, who is highly organised and can demonstrate some experience of working in a predominantly administration-based role.

The Services Administrator will be in regular communication with the Bar Council's members and, as such, must be an approachable and professional individual with the ability to offer excellent customer service.
