    Summary:

  • The Account Manager serves as a technical resource and relationship manager for Commercial Line clients. Guided Account Managers work closely with Account Analysts, Account Consultants, Risk Advisors and insurance company partners while providing prompt, efficient and high-quality client service for designated accounts.
  • Principal Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for gathering the information and risk management recommendations for policy renewals and for delivering renewals and/or binders as needed.
  • Assists in managing policy activity of assigned accounts and referring analyst-level tasks to Account Analysts for processing.
  • Reviews existing accounts to determine if additional lines of insurance should be solicited and provides proposals for these coverages prior to renewal.
  • Determines acceptability and placement, completes applications and processing of assigned renewal accounts.
  • Presents renewal risks to the insurance marketplace for quoting.
  • Handles complex contract requirements and/or client service needs when they exceed Account Analyst capabilities.
  • Cultivates strong relationships with Insurance Company Partners and is responsible for knowing carrier requirements and attributes.
  • Keep management system current, documenting all client and carrier correspondence in accordance with established procedures so that all account stakeholders can access current status and history of accounts.
  • Maintains a concern for timeliness and completeness when interacting with clients, the organization and Insurance Company Partners to minimize potential for errors and omissions claims.
  • Looks for opportunities to improve the firm, business segment and processes. Brings issues and discrepancies to appropriate leadership.
  • Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of related insurance experience, or associated industry experience
  • Current 2-20 state insurance license or other state insurance license(s), as required by the State Department of Insurance to provide risk management consulting or risk transfer solutions as necessary in states where the firm functions.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • CIC certification preferred.
  • Ability to forge relationships with key insurance markets and carrier representatives.
  • Strong technical knowledge of general insurance market conditions and specific insurance carrier underwriting appetites/
  • Ability to analyze complex risk exposures, existing insurance coverages, and develop appropriate recommendations for clients and prospects.
  • Ability to work as part of a team of professionals and build relationships with other Firm business segments.
