Reed Secure are working with a major Police Force, they are seeking a Project Manager who holds SC clearance to join them permanently/Fixed term contract for up to 2 years.

The position will be based at their headquarters based in Bishopsgate.


The Project Manager will sit within the Change Portfolio Office function for the oversees programmes, projects and change initiatives that make up the organisation's portfolio of change.

They are focused on delivering transformational change to meet thefuture needs of the business and to achieve the ambitions of our Policing and Corporate Plans.

Youwill be responsible for the execution and successful delivery of projects as allocated by the Change Portfolio Board.

Develop, plan and coordinate resources, produce papers and reports for board and committees, maintain stakeholder engagement and the projectcommunication approach.

Develop and maintain all relevant project documentation to support effective delivery and be able to demonstrate compliance with corporate project management procedures and financial guidance.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Authority to run the project on a daytoday basis on behalf of the Project Board.
  • Responsible for ensuring that project produces the required products within the specified tolerances of time, cost, quality whilst managing the scope and risk to achieve the benefits.
  • Able demonstrate compliance with corporate project management, governance, financial and procurement requirements.
  • Facilitate the startup activity of projects to define scope, goals and deliverables.
  • Prepare baseline management products in conjunction with Project Assurance.
  • Prepare project reports as required including highlight, issue and end project.
  • Prepare and maintain the project registers and logs.
  • Advise the Project Board of deviations from the project plan.
  • Provide direction and support to project team.
  • Attend dependency meetings and work proactively with other projects to ensure there is no duplication or conflicts.
  • Manage project monitoring and reporting including budget and updating progress to all stakeholders.
  • Manage external suppliers and account managers
  • Manage the close down of the project including actively engage in lessons learned to identify including new working practices
Education/Qualifications

  • Qualifications in Project methodologies to practitioner level.
  • Experience and certifications in any of the following: Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) Management of Risk (M_o_R); Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
Previous Experience

  • Experience working with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Experience of managing concurrent projects.
  • Use of creative problemsolving techniques to identify options and solutions within a project environment.
  • Experience of detailed project planning and RAID management.
  • Experienced in monitoring projects, compiling accurate, concise records and writing reports.
Skills/Knowledge/Ability

  • Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and manage expectations.
  • Understanding of procurement and financial management.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate project teams.
  • Ability to set clear expectations and objectives to a project team and manage performance.
  • Proficient in the use of core project management tools; Microsoft Project and Visio.
  • Ability to undertake problem solving, identify and implement solutions.
  • Basic knowledge of benefits identification.
