Reporting to the Workforce Planning Manager, the role of Workforce Planner is responsible for the delivery of workforce programmes which support the development of the SPR Onshore talent pipeline to ensure SPR Onshore has the right people in the right place at the right time.

In particular, the post holder is responsible for coordination and management of graduate, apprentice, year in industry and summer placement programmes, as well as any other programmes as they are developed to meet the needs of SPR Onshore and its growing workforce.

The role will also require the coordination and management of activities to support the wider SPR Onshore workforce including the coordination of training requirements across the business and developing a robust and consistent onboarding process for all new joiners, interfacing with the relevant HR functions to support.


_What you'll be doing_


You will be responsible for the coordination of the recruitment of trainees within the business including preparing advertisements, shortlisting, assessment and offer, engaging with business owners to ensure business requirements are met and with HR to support the process.


We will look to you for the delivery of trainee programmes including preparing and ensuring delivery of trainee plans and rotation schedules, arranging placements with relevant line managers in the UK and global teams.


You will coach and mentor assigned trainees through regular 1-2-1s, ensuring trainees have an appropriate channel to communicate feedback on the training programme and to provide their input into career development.


You will promote the SPR Onshore trainee programmes via internal and external events, such as careers events, including engaging with industry and academic partners to raise awareness of programmes.


With ScottishPower's commitment to fill 1000 green jobs in 2023 we will look to you to assist with the delivery of a consistent and robust onboarding process for all SPR Onshore new joiners.


You will also be supporting the Workforce Planning Manager in the preparation of strategic workforce plans through assisting in the identification of critical roles and skillsets across the business and being responsible for document control of job descriptions and business organisation charts.


_What you'll bring_


We will look for you to be educated to a degree level or equivalent experience in HR, Learning or Higher Education environments with previous experience in coaching, mentoring or line management of trainees/ wider workforce.

You will have previous experience in shaping and implementing trainee programmes


You will possess strong written and oral communication skills to support a wide degree of business engagement and negotiation as well as the ability to understand and translate technical requirements.


We will also look for you to have the ability to distil business objectives and data into plans by utilising your strong multi-tasking and prioritisation skills to deliver multiple programmes in line with required timelines as well as managing multiple trainee requests.
