The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has a vacancy for Consultant Unit Lead post in Gynaecological Oncology.

This substantive position has arisen due to an increase in service demand for Gynaecological Malignancy within Devon. Exeter is a designated Cancer Centre for Gynaecological Cancer treatment and provides support to South and North Devon populations as well as serving the local population of Exeter and East Devon.

Exeter Cancer Centre provides care for the populations of Exeter, mid and East Devon and Specialist Care for the 2 Cancer Units in South Devon (Torbay) and North Devon (Barnstaple). Consultant Gynaecological Oncologists support the services in the Cancer units with regular outpatient clinics for new and follow-up patients and MDT leadership. It is envisaged that the holder of this post will provide support to the South Devon Cancer Unit in Torbay Hospital with a weekly clinic and MDT commitment.

The successful applicant should hold the MRCOG or appropriate specialist qualification and relevant CCT or equivalent. They should be entered on the GMC Specialist Register (or be eligible for entry within 6 months of the date of the Appointments Advisory Committee). This position is likely to suit either an experienced consultant or an individual transitioning from a specialist training programme to a substantive consultant post.
