Are you looking to make a community impact with your clinical skills and experience? The Mobile Crisis Clinician is an engaged role providing clinical services to mental health and/or substance abuse clients in the community.

The position works closely in collaboration with NKHS Paraprofessionals, Local and State Emergency Response Teams (911,988 law enforcement, EMS, etc) to provide comprehensive crisis intervention and follow-up services.

NKHS is a Designated Agency contracted with the State of Vermont to provide the highest quality of service in the areas of adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, children and youth with serious emotional disabilities, and adults with mental health and substance use challenges.

NKHS has over 450 employees providing case management, community and home supports, residential care, psychiatry, medication management, therapy, vocational supports, school based counseling, emergency care, and respite services.

These services are provided annually to nearly 4,000 of our local community members, helping them overcome challenges and achieve health in mind, body, and spirit.

Emergency Clinical &

Case Management Services:

evaluation and assessment of the individual in crisis and current circumstances, crisis counseling, screening for or diversion from hospitalizations, level of care determination, risk assessment, referral and follow-up.

Mobile community & in-home screenings.
# Conduct thorough and clinically sound crisis assessments to evaluate mental status, risk potential, and immediate needs of individuals in crisis.
# Collaborate with 911 and 988 for seamless telephone transfers and communication with emergency services.
# Consultation and Education Services to community at large, area agencies, the professional community and/or schools as required.

Location & Travel

Services may be performed in the community, clients home, a satellite office (to include NKHS and/or EMS locations) or other public venue.

Personal travel is required.

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a recognized field of mental health that includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in social work, psychology, social welfare or other relevant social sciences (including credits in areas of mental health or child welfare, as appropriate to position responsibilities) (1-2 years experience).

Experience in provision of public or private social work, clinical services, mental health, developmental services and/or substance abuse preferred.

Ability to effectively interface with a wide range of medical and professional clinicians in hospital/clinic settings; & Must be able to drive to and access a variety of community venues & private homes in a large rural area & sometimes in heavy winter conditions.

Competitive Pay $88 per hour + based on experience
