    Description

    We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our team at our Head Office in London on a temporary basis.

    You will be joining us on a 6 -10 week fixed term contract.


    Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will ensure the provision of high quality financial reports within group, statutory and regulatory guidelines.

    The Financial Accountant work within the finance team supporting accurate and timely execution of financial transactions and processes for internal/external reporting requirements.

    Financial Accountant Duties


    • Preparation of annual statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP and Group Accounts, and deal with audit queries
    • Preparation of management information, including daily reporting and monthly management accounts
    • Oversight of timely reconciliation of nostro and control accounts and clearance of reconciling items, along with monitoring and reporting on the reconciliation status of all general ledger accounts
    • Manage the processes around submission of Tax returns to HMRC, which include CRS/FATCA, Corporation Tax etc.
    • Supporting the Regulatory Accountant as required in the preparation and submission of regulatory returns
    • Assist in establishing and maintaining an effective compliance culture within the Bank for combating money laundering, terrorist financing and other forms of financial crime. Ensure that you fully comply with all anti-money laundering and countering terrorist financing procedures and to promptly report to the MLRO where knowledge or reasonable suspicion of any criminal conduct is obtained
    • Ensure you are trained and comply with the Bank's Policy and Procedures regarding Money Laundering detection and reporting, and that any weaknesses identified in AML Procedures and Compliance is promptly addressed
    • Ensure you are trained and comply with the Bank's Policy and Procedures regarding Consumer Duty and also Treating Customers Fairly, and ensure good customer outcomes
    • Ensuring that treating customer fairly (TCF), principles are adhered to at all times
    • To provide assistance to the Financial Controller as required
    • Any additional activities deemed necessary to facilitate the successful completion of the department objectives

    Financial Accountant Requirements:

    • Part qualified or QBE Accountant (essential)
    • 1-2 years finance experience in a banking environment, preferably a small Bank
    • Excellent written and oral communication
    • Experience of working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular MS Excel (advanced level) and MS Access
    • Good understanding of banking systems and processes
    • Ability to liaise with various areas of the Bank such as retail, credit, treasury, trade operations and compliance
