Youth Homelessness Support Worker in Depaul UK, where you will play a vital role in supporting and empowering individuals on their journey towards independence.


About Us:


Role Overview:


The Oldham Young People's Pathway (OYPP) is a temporary supported accommodation project with key focus is providing stability and building independence skills to enable young people to move on to long term accommodation options.

Our clients are young single homeless people aged 16-25 with a range of support needs in
Oldham. The Service provides 24-hour support to the young people.


We have a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is interested in working with us as
Youth Homelessness Support Worker.

This exciting job will avail you the opportunity to manage a caseload of clients, addressing their physical, emotional, social and behavioural needs; supporting them to progress towards independence.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Housing assessment and advice
  • Mediation to prevent eviction from or abandonment of existing accommodation
  • Building relationships with landlords / housing providers
  • Mediating with landlords and families
  • Access new accommodation / finds local landlords
  • Support to access positive community engagement opportunities
  • Support and encouragement around drug and alcohol misuse / mental / physical health needs
  • Support with accessing GP and other health providers
Please note that this job opportunity is offered as a full-time (37.5 hours a week), permanent role.


What We Are Looking For - Person Specification:

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service at all times possible, including using safeguarding and emergency alert procedures where applicable
  • Carry a caseload of clients for whom you will be the named key worker, and you will also take joint responsibility with your team members for the wellbeing and day to day support of all clients in the services
  • Lead on risk and needs assessment and support planning for your key clients and contribute to ongoing needs and risk assessment of other clients in the service
  • Deliver oneto one and group support opportunities within their accommodation and in the local community aimed at increasing resilience in the clients we work with
