This is an opportunity to join the CAMHS Eating Disorders Service in South Derbyshire and Derby to support the provision of care in our new Community Intensive Treatment Service for Eating Disorders.


The successful applicant will work as part of the team to support young people with complex eating disorders at a time of crisis on hospital wards and in the family home, so transport is essential.

You will be involved in the assessment, formulation and support of young people and their families.


You will be part of the regular team clinical supervision processes and able to access regular and frequent individual supervision.


We are looking for an engagement worker who will improve children and young people's mental health, providing support and intervention to young people and families as part of their care plan.

This will include providing individual support for the young people and also include support to parents on following the care plan relating to eating disorders, thus enabling young people to achieve better health.

The role will involve working with children and young people who are experiencing high levels of distress and during periods of crisis.

The post holder will have access to a range of opportunities to support further development and skills in working with eating disorders and will be able to access individual and team supervision and continuing professional development within a skilled and experienced multi professional team.


The team provide a range of evidence based individual, family and group therapies and works flexibly to enable access and maximise opportunities for engagement across Derby and South Derbyshire.

We have strong partnership working with the adult eating disorder service and with paediatric services.


The main responsibilities will include developing therapeutic relationships with young people and their carers throughout their time in the eating disorder service in order to provide enhanced support and interventions to aid wellbeing and recovery and in regaining usual roles and quality of life.


We require the ability to offer flexible working as part of a team approach and travel to a range of locations is required.
