    The team are recruiting Finance Business Partners and Programme Finance Business Partners.

    Finance Directorate:
    This all requires additional financial support, critical observation and reporting and so a dedicated resource is now needed.
    Programme Finance Business Partner

    This role is at the heart of financial decision making, working as part of the collaborative business partnering teams for the Migration & Borders System on Illegal Migration measures.

    Ensuring finance is included in operational decision making across key Government Major Projects Portfolio (GMPP) programmes and other investment programmes and projects across Home Office.

    The post holder will act as a strategic partner to a programme offering financial expertise and guidance to ensure that the programme teams deliver against plans, objectives, and outcomes.

    Finance Business Partner (FBP)
    The financial business planning and in-year financial monitoring and forecasting of budgets.

    Provide strategic support and challenge to business areas to ensure that decisions are made with reference to financial information and consequences.

    Communicate and present financial information to a non-financial audience.
    Collate iterations of costings for HM Treasury on the IMA to secure funding.
    Prepare and present regular financial reports to stakeholders to support decision making and strategic planning.
    Identify opportunities for improvement in financial management working collaboratively with the finance team to enhance tools and processes.
    Advise on key business planning assumptions, trade-offs, and opportunities.
    Provide advice to help resolve competing priorities within the Directorate / Group.
    Provide challenge to the business unit to test assumptions and risks.
    Identify financial risks, monitor risk, and propose mitigating actions.
    Operate effectively within the Home Office's system of financial control and regular planning and reporting cycles.
    Foster a culture of finance excellence including standing up for ethical principles and protecting the Accounting Officer.
    Excellent communication, networking and negotiating skills.

    Excellent interpersonal skills, including experience of providing professional finance and corporate services to senior stakeholders and influencing business decisions.

    Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, planning, collaborating, and delivering through others, to meet both short and longer-term deadlines.

    Good knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
    Excellent Excel skills and a good knowledge of IT and accounting packages.
    Financial skills (CCAB/CIMA qualified or extensive experience).
    Experience supporting internal and external audits related to programme finances.
    Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements in financial management
