    Overview


    The Systems and Database Architecture team is looking for a Database Architect to design and provide oversight for Database solutions through all stages of the development life cycle from bid, concept through architecture, design, build, test and delivery into production.

    Role

    Typically, the role will require the holder to:

    • Produce High Level Designs for Database architecture solutions.
    • Maintain the technology roadmap for Database related technologies in line with end of support dates.
    • Work closely with cross functional teams including Delivery, Engineering and Operations.
    • Ensure that new solutions conform to policies and standards and meet defined non-functional requirements for performance, scalability, availability, security and manageability.
    • Identify, assess and communicate technical risks to the Business and Operations.
    • Evaluate products for project and future usage and take responsibility for trialling new technologies.
    All About You


    Essential:

    • Indepth knowledge of Oracle Database Technologies including OEM
    • Significant experience in a demanding, high availability environment
    • Proven experience of delivering complex technical designs and architectures
    • Ability to present complex technical information to both a technical and non-technical audience.
    • Flexibility to take on new products, services, strategies and ways of working.
    • A clear understanding of how non-functional requirements such as performance and availability are delivered by a technology solution.

    Desirable:

    • Experience of Postgres databases
    • Experience of Microsoft SQL Server
