    The Inside Sales Representative plays a pivotal role in providing robust support to sales channels within the Smiths Business Unit. Collaborating with various departments, this role ensures seamless alignment with customer requests and requirements. As an integral part of the team, you will work closely with the Sales Area Manager to prepare reports, facilitate return goods authorizations, and execute diverse sales support tasks, contributing to the fulfillment of customer needs. This position entails close coordination with operations, quality, shipping, and the sales team to bolster the achievement of business unit goals.

    Duties & Responsibilities
  • Act as the single point of contact for all return good authorization (RGA) requests between customer and Smiths Business Unit
  • Maintain voice of customer in communication between departments
  • Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel internally and externally at customers.
  • Always represent the company in a positive and professional manner
  • Work as part of larger team to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for all aspects of customer service including, although not limited to: Ensure on time delivery goals are met by achieving department established goals.Ensure clear and proactive communication with customers on open order reports, shipment reports and potential delays in ordersMeet the goals for response time on data entry of orders and quotes for RGA requestsProduce daily reports – Open order, shipment, and others as needed and requiredRelease customer quotesProcess Customer PO in contract review cycleSupporting business unit to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue objectivesSupport the Inside Sales Manager with requests to process expedite requests, research status of orders, returns of material, sample requests as needed
  • Build loyal customer relationships via telephone, written correspondence, and email
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure processes used in position remain current and efficient.
  • Ensure outstanding issues are escalated according to the Smiths Business Unit process
  • Arrange and participate in conference calls (internal and external). Meetings may include members from engineering to senior management, as well as customers.
  • Refer requests for technical assistance to the appropriate department or sister Company
  • Adhere to the appropriate departmental processes, procedures, and policies
  • Provide backup support to Inside Sales Team as needed
  • Create and monitor opportunities/quotes providing the status of them regularly
  • Provide forecast in terms of order intake
  • Creation of new business opportunities (NBO) and monitoring of them
  • Other work-related duties as assigned
  • Compliance and participation in all Smiths Connectors EHS programs, policies, procedures, and training requirements

    The Individual
  • Proven experience in customer service, inside sales, or related roles, preferably in the Connector Industry.
  • Knowledge of interconnection products and solutions is advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; a high school degree is required.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Glovia and Salesforce is preferred.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter with multitasking abilities.
  • Customer satisfaction-focused with strong relationship-building skills.
  • High energy, drive, and a sense of responsibility.
  • Fluent in the English language.
