The role
As a Senior Quality Controller - PAUT NDT, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.

Day to day, you'll support the Quality Manager in ensuring the T31 Quality and Governance Objectives are achieved and support Quality Improvement initiatives across the T31 project.

Due to our continued growth a rare and exciting opportunity has presented itself within Babcock Rosyth.

We are looking for a high calibre QC Inspector with PAUT certifications to join our QC team on the Type 31 Frigate Programme.

The post holder will report to the Senior Quality Control Inspector.

Working in a fastpaced shipbuilding environment
PAUT Structural inspection and acceptance of ships structures
Provide close liaison with Lloyds Register and other inspection and verification bodies as required.
Manage the ITR inspection regime and maintain completion records within CMS
Manage and coordinate LR inspections and coordinating their inspection diary.
Where qualified carry out Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant or Ultrasonic Inspection of Welds and Components

Essential experience of the Senior Quality Controller - PAUT NDT

Qualified to a recognised trade standard (Fabrication/Welding/Shipwright/Marine Engineering) and a relevant academic level (HNC/SVQ Level 3).
This Post requires extensive experience in PAUT within a manufacturing environment with both fabrication and structural experience.
Work experience within a processbased validation context or within a compliance based environment is desirable.
Proven experience in conducting PAUT inspections,
Good working knowledge of shipbuilding practices, standards and acceptance criteria.
Ability to read and interpret ship construction drawings & specifications.
Good communication skills with the ability to collate and present information at appropriate levels.

This is a full time position, permanent based at Rosyth Monday - Thursday with overtime and shift work

Qualifications for the Senior Quality Controller - PAUT NDT

Minimum PCN Level 2 in PAUT
MT, PT and UT (3.8/3.9) preferable
RI PCN Level 2 preferable
CSWIP 3.1 preferable
IPAF Preferrable
