The Opportunity:

The Regional Accommodation Maintenance Service (RAMS) contracts are part of the MOD's Future Defence Infrastructure Services (FDIS). The RAMS contracts are across Central and Northern England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The contracts include responsive and planned preventative maintenance as well as improvement and refurbishment projects to approximately 25,000 homes.


Here at Amey we are looking for a Performance & Continuous Improvement Coach to work with our front-line teams, including supply chains and National Accommodation Management Service (NAMS) representatives to positively impact performance levels and improve customer satisfaction in the housing environment.

As a P&CI Coach you will be embedded within the region to ensure all staff are supported to improve at the operational level.

What will this role involve?:


As P&CI Coach not only will you be a positive Ambassador for Amey with Service Families, stakeholder groups and the community, you will help shape the culture and processes required for innovation to succeed and flourish.

Using the full power of the available analysis and feedback, provide advice, insights, and training to drive innovation and improve performance activities throughout the region.

Daily tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Develop a training regime that targets the areas where most improvement is required.
  • Proactively engage with Supply Chains and Local Amey staff to reduce response orders within 12 months of Move In appointments.
  • Identify and accelerate access to appropriate learning and development interventions for front line staff; this will include delivering 121 targeted training where appropriate
  • Coach and mentor Amey and supply staff through effective training to enable them to carry out their roles in an effective and efficient manager.
  • Support the assurance regime and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Support the Workforce Development and Customer Service Manager in the induction and training of new staff.
  • Share best practice with other P&CI Coaches to ensure that improvements developed locally can be applied across the contract.
  • Develop a P&CI Coach forum that supports cross boundary collaboration, standardization of processes and further development within the contract.

What are we looking for?:


Ideally you will have experience in driving change in an operational environment and knowledge of working within a B to B and B to C customer focused environment.


  • ILM Level Three Award in Coaching and Mentoring qualification or equivalent and relevant experience.
  • Lean 6 Sigma or equivalent qualification support by experience in an operational environment.
  • Management level qualification in H&S and Environment (e.g. SMSTS).
