About the Team

This role sits within Ofcom's Online Safety Team. Almost every part of our lives is now online.

As well as bringing many benefits, there are also real risks posed online by harmful or illegal activity - from hate speech to bullying and harassment to child sexual exploitation, and more.

The UK Government has appointed Ofcom as the new regulator for online safety.

Purpose of the Role


As Team Administrator, you will be responsible for providing proactive and effective general administrative support to the Online Safety Group, including diary support to several members of the management team.


Key responsibilities- Diary support to Principals - setting up regular and ad hoc meetings (internal and external) and rescheduling meeting clashes.

Booking rooms and catering for internal/external meetings.- Support to project workstreams e.g.

setting up regular project meetings and large workshops.- Arrange UK and international travel and accommodation for the team, including processing payments and keeping a record of travel expenses to ensure appropriate use of the teams' travel budget.- Book all external training and conference attendance, including raising purchase orders and processing payments. Co-ordinate the onboarding and leavers process including updating org charts, welcome packs, DLs and forwarding all relevant meetings.- Proactively update internal team databases and Sharepoint sites.- Support the organisation of sub-team away days and social events.- Point of contact for all general admin queries.- Work closely with the wider admin team and provide cover when needed.

Skills, Knowledge and experience- Excellent prioritisation and time management skills.- Great attention to detail and pride in your work to ensure delivery of high-quality outputs.- Clear, friendly and accurate communication skills.- Proactive, with a flexible, trustworthy, team-focused approach to tasks.- Proactive in offering or seeking assistance when workloads fluctuate.- Proven ability to work in a responsive, agile and fluid way to meet the requirements of the teams.- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and other software packages e.g.

Sharepoint.- Appreciation of and desire to promote Ofcom's values of excellence, agility, empowerment, collaboration and respect.
