We're currently recruiting for a Senior Trainee Actuary to join our Capital Management Team to develop the skills, competencies and behaviours of a fully effective qualified actuary within the business through a structured programme involving placement training and professional education, working competently and effectively within each placement.

The role

  • Support qualified actuaries and other senior managers in their objective of meeting business and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of current technical aspects of the placement
  • Build proficiency in communicating effectively (verbal and written) with a technical and nontechnical audience, through simplifying complexity, to allow informed decision making and controlled risktaking.
  • Manage and prioritise workloads effectively, with guidance from manager, in order to deliver work to an agreed plan.
  • Developing professional knowledge in an environment of fast moving regulatory change.
  • Developing commercial understanding to ensure actuarial and technical advice meets business needs.
  • Identifying and grasping quickly key areas of business knowledge required, issues and drivers in placement area to make early impact and contribution. Contributing to an engaged and motivated team, and to innovative thinking and improvement.

  • Trainee actuary, making good progress through exams.
  • Inquisitive, eager to learn and able to grasp new concepts
  • Strong communication skills
- able to produce written work able to be shared with senior team members Technically strong, good understanding of actuarial concept as would be expected through experience gained
