The vacancy


The purpose of this role is to ensure that repairs are recorded accurately and jobs are scheduled, tracked and monitored from initiation to completion, managing any follow up work and access arrangements.


As Repairs & Operations Scheduling Officer you will be the first point of contact for customers and contractors chasing a repair request or wanting to alter appointed work.

Knowledge of the social housing sector is desirable, but we welcome people from any customer-facing industry.

We expect the post holder to take responsibility for their own continuing professional development, working alongside colleagues in other services and particularly the Customer Relationship Advisors and the Repairs Team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Logging repairs ensuring that the right level of detail is captured so that jobs can be completed within one visit, whenever possible.
  • Planning, scheduling and allocating all jobs so that the work can be managed within the agreed priority times.
  • Analysing demand and work in progress to identify opportunities to optimise performance, particularly First Time Fix.
  • Managing any follow up work and access arrangements Including:
  • Communicating with customers and colleagues about changes/issues.
  • Progressing requests for materials and liaising with suppliers and specialist subcontractors.
  • Ensuring that work orders are completed and the repairs system is updated in real time with accurate and sufficiently detailed information.

About You

  • Organised and methodical with an open attitude to the support of other teams for the overall good of the organisation.
  • Extremely strong attention to detail with meticulous approach to checking own work for accuracy.
  • Experience of using systems to progress and manage workload.
  • Good keyboard skills with the ability to retrieve and input data.
  • Experience of ensuring consistency when providing a range of services simultaneously
