    Job summary

    The successful candidate is driven to provide high-quality clinical assessment and treatment to substance dependent users. You are driven to deliver high standards of nursing care and interventions and demonstrate leadership qualities. You have a flexible and can-do approach to work, invested in providing great care to our clients. Management and leadership experience desirable as there will be line management duties.

    Main duties of the job

    As a Band 7 NMP you will provide non-medical prescribing for clients with substancedependence.You will ensure management of complex clients, providing advice and guidance onprescribing issues to a team of practitioners, as well as other colleagues and agenciesconcerned with substance misuse.As the Lead Nurse, you will demonstrate leadership and undertake managerialresponsibilities. You will be responsible for ensuring effective and best use of the nursingprovision and all clinical resources.

    Job description

    Job responsibilities

    As a Band 7 NMP you will provide non-medical prescribing for clients with substancedependence.You will ensure management of complex clients, providing advice and guidance onprescribing issues to a team of practitioners, as well as other colleagues and agenciesconcerned with substance misuse.

    As the Lead Nurse, you will demonstrate leadership and undertake managerialresponsibilities. You will be responsible for ensuring effective and best use of the nursingprovision and all clinical resources.

    Person Specification

    Experience

    Essential

  • -5 years post-registration experience
  • -2 years working in Substance Misuse Services at a Band 6 level
  • -Experience of managing multidisciplinary staff
  • -Knowledge of the safe storage and administration of medication
  • -Ability and knowledge to carry out assessments, including risk
  • assessment and management
  • -Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care and
  • act accordingly if concerns present themselves
  • -Strong IT Skills

    • Desirable

  • -Experience of working within a secure environment
  • -Ability to provide and coordinate clinical and management
  • supervision
  • -Audit process and an ability to use audit tools
  • -Working knowledge of SystemOne
