    Role: Defence Field Service Engineer

    Contract: Permanent

    Salary: £32,219+ £3k bonus for maintaining Sponsored Reserve status

    Location: Nationwide

    Our Defence Engineers are integral to the delivery of our MOD contract. As part of this role you will be required to become an active member of the Army Reserve in the position of Sponsored Reserve. As part of the recruitment process those who have no military experience or have been out of the military for over 6 years will be required to attend Army Reservist basic training.

    As a Defence Field Service Engineer you will be responsible for;

    • The service and maintenance of materials handling and plant equipment in support of the MOD
    • Fault finding, break downs, planned preventative maintenance and pre delivery inspection of all equipment
    • Ensuring customer service is kept to a high level and any queries are addressed
    • Following all MOD site rules whilst on base
    • Adhering to safety guidelines and all policies set out by customers and AmeyBriggs
    • Complete job activity electronically and ensure all required parts to complete tasks are ordered in a timely fashion to support MOD activity
    • Ensuring customer relationships are maintained and developed through high standards of service

    As a Defence Field Service Engineer you will demonstrate;

    • Relevant technical qualification and experience of working on plant, MHE, powered access, HGV's or related equipment experience
    • Previous military experience is advantageous but not a necessity as full military reservist training is offered
    • Good understanding of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical principals
    • The ability to work independently and under pressure
    • The ability to manage and prioritise workload
    • Understanding customer needs

    As a Defence Field Service Engineer you will command;

    • A base salary of £32,219 (subject to yearly increases) based on a 40 hour working week
    • Overtime is payable at x1.5 Monday – Friday and x2 at weekends when not assigned to the MOD
    • Annual bonus of £3000 (subject to maintaining Sponsored Reserve deployable status)
    • 40% pay enhancement for Sponsored Reserve mobilisation
