- Demonstrating an understanding of how to assure products are acceptably safe, often from the first principles of safety engineering
- Developing efficient yet effective safety arguments for technically complex products
- Providing credible advice and guidance to project teams on Product Safety matters, ensuring that safety considerations are an integral part of the design process, taking cognisance of the whole product lifecycle
- Deploying the latest thinking from across industry and academia to support new cutting-edge work on the safety of future product designs, including active work moving into the Model Based Safety Assurance arena
- Be expected to contribute to the Business's policy and culture of continuous process improvement, in particular Safety process improvement initiatives
- Hold Engineering/Systems/Safety degree or equivalent that supports or is working towards IEng status;
- Clear understanding of safety engineering & assurance principles
- Knowledge of relevant safety legislation & standards
- Experienced and qualified engineers from other disciplines who display the correct behaviours and have an understanding of safety engineering, will actively be considered for this role
- An understanding of product development and delivery lifecycles
