    We are proud to be partnering with a Central London university who are looking to appoint a Governance Officer on a permanent basis.

    This will be a full-time position, with hybrid working (2 days/week home working) and a salary of £33,823 - £42,422 per annum dependent on experience.

    The ideal candidate will have previously worked as a Governance Officer in higher education, or within the public sector.

    Duties will include (but are not limited to):

    • Providing secretariat support for several sub-committees of the Board of Trustees, working closely with Committee Chairs and senior managers for both academic departments and professional services
    • Taking minutes of agreed Committee and Board meetings, ensuring these meetings are run effectively and producing approved minutes within the allotted time period
    • Developing and circulating meeting agendas and papers, as well as monitoring that follow up actions have been carried out sufficiently
    • Updating the organisation's Risk Register, including working with senior managers to ensure they understand the risk framework fully as well as supporting to identify appropriate risks and realistic mitigating action
    • Preparing papers, reports and spreadsheets in relation to governance and risk management and/or insurance
    • Identifying and implementing changes to policies and procedures to ensure the service continues to meet agreed quality standards, guidelines and procedures

    Experience required:

    • Excellent minute taking skills
    • Previous experience working as part of a governance team
    • Experience of efficient and effective running of committee meetings

    Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

    • Excellent communication skills
    • Strong attention to detail
