    About the vacancy:

    We require a Site Supervisor to join our growing Civils team on a full time, permanent basis. The successful applicant will assist with overseeing the site safety and works for our Civils team along Network Rail routes to provide a safe passage way for the UK's transportation industry.

    Based in Kent and operating across Network Rail's infrastructure across Wessex, Kent and Sussex, the successful candidate must have a full driving licence.

    As first point of contact for the team, you will be supervising and liaising with internal and external stakeholders and responsible for activity. You will lead, motivate teams and provide safe ways of working through delivery of Toolbox talks, task and SSOW briefings. Strong communication skills, industry knowledge and a calm pragmatic approach are essential.

    The ideal candidate will proactively liaise with the Works Manager to ensure projects are delivered in line with client requirements and to the highest standards. You will be required to undertake site audits and inspections, and well as produce accurate scoping of works. You will be field-based for the majority of your time, so you must be happy to work in all that the British weather has to offer

    As well as sharing the ethos and values of our Company, candidates should have the following:


    • Experience in a similar role within the Rail industry

    • Full UK driving licence

    • PTS & COSS

    • SSSTS

    Duties and Responsibilities:


    • Main point of contact on delivery sites for internal and external stakeholders and responsible for activity/works.


    • Produce accurate scoping of works and submit in a timely manner to the Project Manager.

    • Proactively liaise with the Project Manager to ensure understanding of delivery requirements and to inform communication.

    • Supervise, direct and motivate internal colleagues and external labour, providing clarity on tasks/work and problem-solving to ensure efficient and effective delivery.

    • Give toolbox talks, task and SSOW briefings to the delivery team, as required.

    • Ensure the Civils teams are equipped with all they need to deliver safe and quality works, including materials, PPE, etc.

    • Daily monitoring of the Civils team locations, activities, etc. ensuring productivity, safety and quality.

    • Daily reporting of activity and completed works to the Project Manager.

    • Produce accurate completion report for all works and submit to the Project Manager in a timely manner.

    • Undertake site audits and inspections, ensuring the accurate completion of relevant paperwork. Submit paperwork to Works Manager, Project Manager, Health and Safety team, etc. as appropriate.

    • Ensure works are completed to standards set out by job specifications, industry and Company standards, policies and procedures (including quality and Health and Safety), informing the Project Manager of any issues or concerns.

    • Stop work at any time if safety or quality of work is in question.

    • Communicate staffing roster for work on a week-by-week basis.

    • Undertake vehicle checks in line with company procedures, promptly reporting any issues to the appropriate person.

    • Ensure works data/information is accurately captured, recorded, maintained and reported.

    • Carry out risk assessments on site and highlight potential hazards to the correct team/department.

    • Proactively suggest ways of eliminating hazards and improving work methods.

    • Observe and follow all applicable safe methods of working, and health, safety and environmental rules/procedures. Report any incidents or Close Calls immediately to the appropriate person.

    • Undertake training as required by your manager or the Company

    • Adhere to Company Policies and Procedures.

    • Be an ambassador, upholding and reflecting the ethos and values of the Company.
