We are actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer or Indirect Buyer to join our team, with the passion and ability to progressively develop. As a pivotal member of our procurement team, you will be integral to the acquisition of non-production goods and services within the manufacturing and automotive sector.
Responsibilities
Liaise with the external procurement team conducting market research specific to the automotive and manufacturing industry to identify optimal suppliers
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, understanding and addressing their unique procurement needs
Execute strategic negotiations with suppliers, emphasizing favourable terms for the company
Foster and maintain robust relationships with automotive-focused vendors, ensuring seamless communication and partnership
Evaluate and implement cost-effective procurement strategies while adhering to quality standards
Enhance overall efficiency in the procurement process, focusing on streamlining procedures
Maintain and attain to procurement activities within SAP
Always look to challenge Status Quo and continually improve process and cost.
Additional Responsibilities
Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations, providing insights to enhance procurement strategies
Contribute to the development of supplier diversity initiatives within the Astemo portfolio
Monitor and assess supplier performance, recommending improvements and ensuring compliance with automotive industry regulations
Assist in the development of risk management strategies.
Qualifications and experience
Preferable higher education in Business, Supply Chain Management, but not essential
Preferred experience in indirect procurement within a manufacturing sector
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work and make decision using data and analytics
Excellent prioritisation and organisation
Experience of using software packages, Microsoft, SAP
Self starter and ability to learn quickly and efficiently
