Are you a Post-Doctoral Research Associate with experience in engineering or manufacturing, and a strong track record of conducting research within a food industry/manufacturing environment?

We are looking for a PDRA to join our newly formed team within the National Centre for Food Manufacturing, based in Grimsby, and developed to strengthen the local research and innovation infrastructure.

You will work closely with Grimsby's seafood processing businesses and key stakeholders to advance the sector and the wider food manufacturing sector in Greater Lincolnshire and across the UK.

The seafood cluster in and around Grimsby is the largest in the UK and the 2nd largest in the Northern Hemisphere, it directly employing over 5,500 people in fish processing and over 10,000 people in the supply-chain.

The sector is experiencing significant growth and investment, placing seafood and aquaculture central to the Greater Lincolnshire LEP's inward investment plans.

In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team of professionals who are adept at working with businesses.

The role is focused primarily on supporting the food industry decarbonisation agenda and requires expertise in energy and process measurements and analysis.

The data produced and analysed as part of these projects will be transferred to a range of outputs including publications and presentations, therefore knowledge or experience of scientific writing and experience of writing a data management plan is essential.

Working with multidisciplinary scientific teams and industrial partners will be integral to this role, therefore effective communication and interpersonal skills are required.

We are also particularly interested in people who are enthusiastic about learning new skills and who have experience in managing a significant industry-focused project.

The University of Lincoln's NCFM is a major resource for the UK's food manufacturing sector delivering skills, research, and support for innovation in partnership with over 250 leading food businesses from its headquarters on the South Lincolnshire Food Enterprise Zone Campus in Holbeach in South Lincolnshire.

This post offers an outstanding opportunity for a motivated and committed researcher to work within a dynamic, industry facing University environment and gain valuable experience in partnering in research with businesses, some of whom are at the cutting edge of technological innovation for the food sector.
