We are looking for a night worker to join our team in Hounslow.

The Hounslow LIFE service is a large multi-site service that currently has a staff team of 32 supporting 88 clients; covering specialism's such as Homelessness, Substance Use and Mental Health.

The service focuses on supporting residents around their strengths and aspiration's for the future.

In the role of Night Worker you will actively engage with residents to provide support and assistance during the night.

You will be responsible for appropriately dealing with any emergency situations that arise during your shift and writing handover notes for the daytime workers; and also carry out administrative tasks, hourly building checks and monitor issues like noise in the locality and within the building.

You will be comfortable as a lone worker, and develop a good knowledge of relevant protocols and safety precautions.

About you

You will have a passion for supporting some of the most socially excluded individuals in the borough and ensuring that they have access to the same opportunities as everyone else, within the wider community.

To succeed in these rewarding roles you will have:


  • Good communication skills with the ability to respond and interact effectively with residents and colleagues.
  • Experience in following administrative procedures and maintaining clear and accurate records.
  • Being reliable, awake and alert at all times during your shift and acting with integrity is expected, as is using your initiative and staying calm in the event of an emergency.
  • You may have experience of working within a similar role or may have worked in other night accommodation / security type positions.
  • Flexibility is required, as you'll be working a Night shift rota that includes weekends and public holidays. On occasions you will also be expected to come in during the day to attend mandatory trainings, participate in supervision, team meetings and other activities as required.
