Design Engineer


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Design Engineer to join a leading UK manufacturer and supplier of specialist equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Design Engineer who wants to be involved in all aspects of design from concept throughto production for completely new designs as well as improvements to the existing product range.

You will be working within a small team, producing all future, current and specialised requests for our customers.

The work will be varied and exciting and you will get the opportunity to create concepts for many different industries, anything from motormanufacturing to oil rigs, airports, hospitals, atomic plants, power stations and many more.


Responsibilities:


  • Design of machinery using manufacturing techniques such as sheet metal work, fabrication, mechanical & electrical assembly
  • Creating and / or amending 3D CAD designs
  • Generating full manufacturing drawings
  • Liaising with the factory with regard to drawings required for standard and special build requirements
  • Communicating with suppliers
  • Customer site visits for specific project work
  • Creating and amending manuals and documentation as required
  • Supporting the marketing team with technical information when necessary

Person Specification

  • Dynamic and innovative engineer with a minimum of 3 years' experience
  • 3D Solid Modelling experience essential, preferably Solidworks
  • Knowledge of Low voltage electrical and battery powered systems would also be advantageous along with a general understanding of hydraulic systems
  • Ability to work under own initiative and take responsibility for project requirements

Hours of Work, Pay, and Benefits

  • Up to £35,000
  • Monday to Thursday
  • 7.30am to 4pm
  • Friday
  • 7.30am to 3pm
  • Company Pension
