Test & Validation Engineer

Up to £36/hr - Inside IR35

Peterborough - with flex working

12 month initial contract - Long term

A Test and Development Engineer opportunity has become available for one of the world's leading manufacturers of off-highway machinery and diesel and natural gas engines.

You will be involved in a variety of engine installation and test projects into off-highway machines and generator sets. Primarily covering mechanical and electrical engine to machine integration, shakedown and test.

Key Responsibilities include:

Effectively manage several projects simultaneously
Diagnose and fix a range of faults on both diesel engine and machine
Work from engineering drawings (electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic)
Produce electrical looms and drawings to interface engine and machine
Travel to various offsite test and development facilities
Collection, analysis, and reporting of technical test data
Undertake training and further learning as required
Adhere to the Organisation's health and safety policy and safe working practices

Skills, experience & qualifications

Bachelor degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science or equivalent experience
Must have ability to communicate effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well as employees in other units, customers, and suppliers
Demonstrable high level of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical/electronic aptitude with a good working knowledge of engines and machines (system integration)
Must have ability to communicate effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well as employees in other units, customers, and suppliers
Good machine/engine hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and diagnostic/problem solving skills
Previous experience in use of CANape is desirable
Previous experience in an off highway test and development environment is desirable
Understanding of highway machines and their operation is desirable
