    Description
    Laboratory Technician (FTC for 7 months)
    5 hours a day, alternating morning and afternoon shifts:
    Week 1 = Monday to Friday 7am-3pm
    Week 2 = Monday to Friday 2pm - 10pm
    We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to work within the Sample Preparation and Physical Analysis team department.
    Taking the raw material, processing it into a testable form, (removing over size stones and waste materials), leaving a refined Kaolin for testing

    • Ensure results are accurately recorded and reported using the LIMS database
    • Carry out daily and weekly instrumentation checks, calibration procedures, quality control sample monitoring, prove method competency, identifying instrument performance issues.
    • Collecting samples from the Geology Team
    • Follow approved guidelines on the safe use and storage of chemicals.

    We are looking for someone who has a real interest in Laboratory work and is looking for that initial step in their career.

    Previous experience within a Laboratory Testing environment would be ideal but not essential as training will be provided. T skills, along with a GCSEs, grade A-C in Maths, English and Science.
    Must be able to work within a laboratory environment, including the safe use of laboratory equipment and chemicals, as well as following correct manual handling procedure
