The Mercure George Washington Hotel is located in the tranquil area of Washington, just a short drive from the centre of Newcastle.
The Mercure George Washington Hotel, Golf and Spa have 125 Bedrooms, Meeting and Event rooms, Carter and Fitch Restaurant, Championship Golf course and a Fitness Leisure Club & Spa.
Main Duties:
Working 40 hour week (shifts work) 5 days over 7 days.
To be fully aware of the preparation and service of all dishes on the hotel menus.
To prepared to adapt and present dishes on according to customer requirements.
To ensure mis en place is carried out in your allocated area of work to meet fore-casted demand.
To record temperature checks on food and in storage areas as directed to ensure statutory requirements are met and report any variances are rectified immediately.
To assist with the training of and supervise other members of the kitchen brigade.To assist with quality control and menu planning where appropriate.
To be aware of product cost and kitchen gross profit targets.
To assist with the ordering of food materials as required following company procedures.
To be fully aware of and strictly observe Food Safety regulations and requirements.
Bringing previous kitchen experience and Food Preparation qualifications, youll train trainee chefs, handle stock, ordering and cut down on wastage.
Naturally, the ability to cook with Flair and imagination is paramount.Ideally from a hotel background you will have experience of catering for large conference and events including weddings and bespoke private functions.
