    Development Underwriter - Role Essentials

    • Take responsibility for managing your own diary and caseload, supported by a thriving team
    • Trading a set of nice and specialty lines business for a business at the forefront of this section of the market
    • Forge robust relationships with a select panel of key brokers to secure new business
    • Empowerment to underwrite business and make astute commercial decisions
    • Active participation in the Birmingham insurance market, lead by face-to-face broker interactions

    Skills and Experience

    • Demonstrable experience in underwriting, with a keen interest in specialty commercial lines
    • Adept at trading and relationship management, with a track record of business development success
    • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
    • Organised and self-motivated, capable of managing a diverse workload
    • Although not essential, prior knowledge of professional indemnity insurance (or an interest in learning) will be advantageous
