Mechanical Design Engineer - £32,000 - £53,000 (DOE) - Winchester

Due to organic growth my client is seeking a Design Engineer with a good understanding of engineering calculations who has ideally designed special purpose machinery, laboratory equipment, process plant, mechanical assemblies or similar.

My client operate out of a modern office facility just outside of Winchester. They provide great career development opportunities as well as the chance to work alongside a team of highly skilled Senior Engineers.

The Package:

Salary - £32,000 - £53,000 (DOE)

37 hours a week Monday-Thursday 08:30-17:00 and Friday 08:30-16:30

25 days holiday + bank holidays

Death in service 4x annual salary

Hybrid working available - 2 days from home and 3 days in the office

The Role:

• To produce engineering designs and associated engineering documents such as drawings, calculations and reports.
• To issue engineering documents as required.
• To progress small and medium sized engineering projects, as allocated or working as part of a team on larger projects.
• Project work, in addition to design, will include all aspects of the design process such as draughting and testing of products, as well as other organizational tasks appropriate.
• Substantiation / validation of design output.

Required Skills:

• Must have experience using software such as SolidWorks and CAD / Autocad
• Must have good engineering calculations ability. (Hans calcs, MathCAD, FEA experience).
• Experience of machine design, e.g. mechanical assemblies, food processing, packaging machinery, medical equipment, ROV, remote handling equipment or similar would be advantageous.
