By building awareness of our brand, promoting our services and our people, they play a key role in helping to deliver the firm's strategy, whether through client communications, events, digital or direct marketing.

We are looking for a talented and experienced Social & Digital Media Executive to join our busy team to implement online marketing strategies across social media channels and other relevant platforms.


  • You'll be responsible for creating engaging written and visual content that positions Thorntons as thought leaders and trusted advisors in the Scottish legal market place
  • Proactively identify opportunities for our Legal, Estate Agency and business support teams to develop engaging content, and suggest creative ways to connect with our target audiences
  • Work with Partners, Solicitors and Advisors across the business to promote Thorntons' brand and services.
  • Oversee all Thorntons' social media accounts
  • Develop and coordinate content which will improve web traffic and engagement metrics aligned with our broader marketing strategies.
  • Provide input into our broader marketing initiatives and support campaigns

What we're looking for

  • You'll take a lead role in delivering the firm's social media strategy to boost brand recognition, engagement and enquiries
  • Versatile you'll be comfortable working across multiple channels and have knowledge of LinkedIn advertising, Meta Business Suite and scheduling platforms such as Buffer.
  • Manage and plan a global content calendar as well as managing the daytoday running of all social media channels, tailoring content to different channels and audiences.
  • Plan, develop and manage social media campaigns that promote the firm, our services, people, events and CSR.
  • Experience of creating engaging multimedia content.
  • Experience in using social media platforms, particularly in relation to advertising/branding and engagement, and emerging trends and technologies.
  • Monitor, track, analyse and report on the performance of social media platforms using tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook insights.
  • A working knowledge of SEO
  • Knowledge of Adobe Cloud products is preferred but not essential
  • A creative thinker with strong copywriting skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • A great communicator: this is a demanding, fast paced role so you'll need to have good people skills, be highly motivated, proactive and able to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Teamworker and relationship builder, sharing knowledge about the benefits of social media with key stakeholders across the firm.
  • A passion for social media and content creation. You'll stay up to date with changes and developments in social platforms and identify opportunities to diversify our content including video, podcasts and other emerging technologies.
