Here at Hitachi Rail we have a great opportunity for an experienced
Programme Planning Lead in which you will be responsible for planning, forecasting and control across your assigned portfolio.
As the
Programme Planning Lead you will be based from our Ludgate Hill HQ, London where we can offer hybrid working.
Whilst leading planning activities, maintaining bid and project programmes you will work with various stakeholders across the organisation such as financial control, vehicles business and Sales.

About you
Applicants should be able to demonstrate all of the essential requirements listed below:
- Self-starter with ability to develop strong, constructive and focused relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all organisation levels
- Proven ability to work successfully in a multidisciplinary team and demonstrate excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Experience, and skilled in the use of Primavera P6 and Microsoft planning products using Critical Path Analysis in a technical environment
- Flexibility to travel around Hitachi Rail locations as required, potentially including international locations
- Able to represent Hitachi in a professional manner at all times
Desirable Requirements:
- Formal project management training
- Good knowledge of SAP or equivalent MRP system
- Bi or multilingual
- English/Japanese/Italian
- Client or project delivery experience, within the UK railway industry
- Motivated and can work with minimum supervision
- Excellent communication skills
- Good organisation/time management
- Enjoys challenges and problem solving
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Calm and measured in pressured situations
- A team player
Role responsibilities include
- To lead planning activities within the assigned programme team, through bid and project lifecycles in association with the Programme Services Procedure and Programme Controls Procedure
- To work closely with the Bid Manager, Programme Manager, and delivery function leads to ensure the timely production of programmes and plans required to support bid submissions
- To work closely with the Programme Manager, Project Managers, and delivery function leads to establish and maintain contract delivery programmes and plans as required to satisfy our contractual obligations
- Effective coordination of; internal divisions and functions, subcontractors and all required stakeholders in relation to the development and management of contract delivery and bid programmes
- To provide support to project delivery teams and stakeholders in ensuring that issues within the contract delivery programme are proactively highlighted, understood and solutions are identified
- To produce reports and dashboards as required to effectively communicate programme compliance and status to Hitachi and external stakeholders
- To establishing programme baselines and thereafter evaluating the potential effect of risks and changes
- To support the Programme Planning Lead in the preparation and maintenance of resource and capacity forecasts and programmes across the scope of responsibilities for the Projects team
