- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with hand and upper limb conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to promote recovery, function, and independence.
- Provide therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy, exercise prescription, splinting, and education.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with NHS guidelines.
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives within the department.
- Educate and mentor junior staff and students, promoting best practices in hand therapy.
- Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Postgraduate training and/or significant experience in hand therapy.
- Proven clinical skills in the assessment and treatment of hand and upper limb conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
- Membership of the British Association of Hand Therapists (BAHT) or equivalent professional body.
- Experience in a hospital or NHS setting.
- Advanced clinical skills in hand therapy, including complex splinting techniques.
