    Description

We are seeking applications from dedicated and hardworking professionals with a desire to work in a successful, happy and well-resourced non-selective Academy.

We are looking for applicants who will strive to make a substantial difference to the lives of our students, our school and the wider community. You must be experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated, with strong organisational skills, and ready to play a significant role as Head of Drama.

To be successful, you will be:

    • An outstanding, research-informed practitioner with a proven record of raising attainment for students
    • A confident and competent user of data, able to empower others in its use to support outstanding pedagogy
    • Able to inspire and challenge every student, enabling them to make excellent progress
    • Able to communicate with and enthuse staff and implement ideas

We are a mixed 11–18 non-selective converter academy with approximately 835 students. Uplands Academy converted to an Academy in September 2022 and became a member of the MARK Education Trust (formerly Beacon Community College Academy Trust). The acronym MARK was selected because staff who work in the trust are motivated, ambitious, resourceful, and knowledgeable. This partnership will provide many exciting opportunities for professional development and the sharing of good practice across the two schools.

We work meticulously to secure a culture of unapologetically high expectations that are underpinned by our collective, uncompromising belief and ambition for the students of Uplands Academy. Our experienced, loyal, highly skilled and highly effective team of staff work together so that teachers can teach and students can learn. The Academy is committed to the development of both its staff and students.

At Uplands Academy, the relationships between our staff and our students are excellent and ones that we are proud of. Our staff have high expectations, are ambitious for our students, and they know them well. We pride ourselves on our rigorous focus on the child as a unique individual, including our most disadvantaged and those with SEND. We ensure that the lessons that our students receive are personalised and inclusive, enabling them to be actively engaged in their learning. We want our children to be happy, successful, and confident by providing the best possible education for all our students. We want to be an exceptional educational establishment for our community.
