- FRCOphth / MRCOphth or equivalent ophthalmic qualification.
- CCT in Ophthalmology or equivalent ophthalmic training (or be within 6 months of CCT date).
- Full GMC registration (with a 'Licence to Practise').
- Be on or eligible for the GMC specialist register, or be within six months of entry.
- Higher Degree ( MD or PhD).
- Be near to or completed Higher Specialist Training in Ophthalmology.
- Undertaken recognised Fellowship Training in Medical Retina
- Excellent general ophthalmic experience, including emergency care
- Knowledge of Accident and Emergency pathways and procedures
- Should have received training in educational supervision as defined by the GMC

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for fixed term (Maternity cover) Locum Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in the Medical Retina Service at City Road and North Divisions (Ealing Site).
The post holder will be responsible for the ongoing care and management of Medical Retina patients within the trust. The successful candidate will be expected to provide training for junior doctors and to support the further development of the Allied Health Care Professionals within the service.
Candidates should have completed their Specialist Training in Ophthalmology, have their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent, or be within six months of their CCT date. Candidates are required to be in possession of the Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists or equivalent. The holder of this post is required to be fully registered with the General Medical Council and hold a license to practice. The successful candidate should have completed at least a year of subspecialty Medical Retina fellowship training.
