    Head of Marketing Operations

    Manchester / Hybrid 2 days a week onsite in Media City

    £80k - £100k

    SUMMARY

    The Head of Marketing Operations will be joining an innovative and forward thinking Digital Marketing agency who work across a range of clients, brands and industries.

    They are now looking for a passionate, proactive, and tech savvy candidate with a proven track record of managing and developing technical talent.     Reporting to the Director of Operational Marketing, the Head of Marketing Operations is accountable for recruiting, developing and guiding a team in executing key marketing activities. You will oversee the execution of functions by the Marketing Operations Manager and Supervisors, as well as all operational aspects of marketing initiatives of the business. Leadership and development of the team is the first and most prominent priority of the role.

    You will be the primary point of contact for all things Marketing Operations and will be the go-to for providing creative solutions, as well as technical and product expertise. The team will rely on you to ensure they have the tools, skills, and resources required to complete their tasks, for technical guidance, and to create and enforce processes and SLAs.

    The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in web development, email marketing, business intelligence, CRM, or a similar discipline, has experience mentoring and developing technical talent, is a natural leader, and welcomes the opportunity to spearhead a growing team.

    RESPONSIBILITIES


    • Recruit, develop, guide and retain a team to execute key marketing strategies.


    • Lead and oversee the work and day-to-day operation of the Marketing Operations team, ensuring adequate resource coverage and deployment as a service provider.


    • Oversee the onboarding and training of all new hires.


    • Mentor and develop existing talent to continuously upskill the team to meet complex needs.


    • Set key objectives within the Department and enable the team to achieve results by removing blockers and allocating resources.


    • Remove roadblocks for the marketing operations team that impact prioritisation, resourcing, and unnecessary fire-drills.


    • Coordinate with internal teams to devise, revise, and improve processes, workflows, SLAs, and to support their adoption and adherence.


    • In collaboration with the Marketing Operations Manager, evaluate the marketing tech stack to assess requirements and build business cases to add new technology as needed.


    • Perform quarterly check-ins and yearly performance reviews with direct reports, and ensure they are completed for indirect reports.


    • Serve as the primary point-of-contact and representative for Marketing Operations in all communications with other team leaders and executive leadership.


    • Stakeholder management, including facilitation of potentially challenging stakeholder discussions to reach clear agreements/decisions.


    • Assist the team with creative problem solving to remove or work-around roadblocks.


    • Executive level, monthly and weekly reporting along with data entry utilising Excel and Tableau.


    • Keep up-to-date on industry trends and best practices to ensure and facilitate implementation and adherence.


    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS


    • Relevant degree/diploma or a minimum 8-10 years' experience in a management role, preferably in the web development, email marketing, business intelligence, or CRM space.


    • Experience building and managing a team in technical and professional growth, both in person and remotely.


    • A proven record of managing high volume workload.


    • Data and insight driven with a strong understanding of marketing KPls and marketing automation technology.


    • Possess exemplary interpersonal skills including influencing, negotiations and teamwork skills.


    • Ability to think strategically, develop frameworks and platforms that ensure optimal and unfettered access to business tools, assets and capabilities.


    • Superb analytical, problem-solving capability and help the team make sound conclusions.


    • A strong belief in teamwork and willing to roll up your sleeves when needed.


    • Comprehensive knowledge of HTML and CSS is required; a strong knowledge of JavaScript and/or SQL is an asset.


    • Prior experience with CMS, Email Marketing, CRM, and/or SQL platforms and programs is required.


    • Email reputation management and best practices knowledge is an asset.


    • Ability to generate queries, scripts, and reporting utilising SQL is an asset.


    • Foundational understanding of SEO, design, and development best practices.


    • Excellent leadership, organisational, time management, English verbal and written communications skills are critical.


    • Motivated individual, comfortable with rapid changes.


    • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines all while having a strong attention to detail.


    • Ability to travel when required.
